Planned Parenthood - South Bay Health Center

Theyre really sweet, but I waited over an hour for my appointment. Treatment was under fifteen minutes.Id advise anyone scheduling an appointment to allow a two hour buffer between any other plans you have on a day. I figured I might wait thirty minutes max since I had an appointment, and ended up completely late to where I was going after.

By far the worst one i have been to. There is always a 2 hour wait no matter if you have an appointment. Very disorganized and unprofessional staff. Do not waste your time.

Everyone was so sweet and helpful. Yvette at the front desk made signing in so easy and already made me feel at ease. Marilyn helped me once I was called in and made me so comfortable as did Lanisha to finish up my appointment. Would recommend this location. And would return here if I need more assistance due to the kindness of these ladies. Thank you for everything.

Ive been coming to this PP for over a decade. I WALKED-IN less than 30 minutes ago and am already being seen. I was fully prepared to wait 3+ hrs, like at any doctors appointment, but thankfully I was helped right away. Jasmine was super nice and when I told her I was impressed with the service, she said they have new staff! Im very pleased with my visit and made an appointment to come back for more services next week. Thank you.

I expected a long wait time, as I didnt have an appt. But they were very nice and helpful. The staff was friendly and made me feel comfortable

This is the only location that I experience 2 hr wait times with an appointment. Staff is rude. They said that is the wait time regardless of if you have an appointment or not. Then why would I even bother to make an appointment.I have not had the same experience at other locations. It is only Lawndale.

I don’t understand what the point of making an appointment is when it was 45 minutes after my time and I still wasn’t called. I ended up leaving since I was taking time off work. Extremely slow service by the front desk people, but the providers themselves are lovely people.

The reviews about the wait times are valid. They have ONE person working the check in window. Each patient took 5 mins and I was 3rd in line meaning by the time I checked in, I was already 15 minutes late. Appointments are unnecessary, as youre not seen anywhere near your actual time. They need to do better. Never again.

Extremely ignorant and rude staff members working the front desk. The wait times are ridiculous. I made an appointment for 10:45AM and I wasn’t seen until 12:45 PM. The two sloppily dressed Hispanic women working in the front desk (One with glasses and long dark hair, and the other had fried cheap bleached ends) have such poor attitudes. The cheap bleach job one had lied to me and told me I would be seen next after waiting an hour after my appointment time. I waited ANOTHER hour while patients that had came in after me were seen before me. When I got to the back, it took my appointment all of 7 minutes for a simple pregnancy confirmation. The 2 women are not a good representation of Planned Parenthood and I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone. FPA’s WOMENS HEALTH in Torrance and Santa Monica provide bettter quality of service. The staff members are professional, kind and take care of their appearance, when coming to work. 🙃

I had a good experience here today from the front desk staff to the PA that looked at me. They were all friendly, now this was my own experience here I would go back again. The waiting time wasn’t that long and they took care of me and listened to me.

Front Desk and Manager gave me a very hard time. Very unprofessional and rude! Refused to help my daughter that is 17 and is consenting to me as her mother to be apart of the appointment. Had an appointment and then they said it was a 2 hrs. Wait. Rescheduled for the following day early morning.

Super supportive, love this place they always take care of you.

Laura D MD. (Front desk lady) Gave me a very bad experience. She’s extremely rude, kept talking over me and did not let my 10 yr old son inside with me… she told me to leave him outside? (In the hallway not even inside in the waiting lobby) Or she said she can reschedule me for some other day…she refused to let me in. As a single mom that is NOT ok and no one ever mentioned that to me on the phone when I was booking my appointment. I like planned parenthood and the service they provide but Laura did not give me a good experience.

Great service, very caring and helpful for womens health, we need more support and places like this, we also need better reviews for these places so women go take advantage of services like birth control and testing. And not get deterred from poor reviews. Jasmine and Thelma were great and helpful. We need to protect our bodies and minds.

They have good customer service the nurse are nice

I have been coming to this location for a couple of years now for a variety of services. Its always been a great experience for me. The staff are professional, friendly, and informative. The longest Ive waited (always with an appointment) was about 20 mins. The services I receive help me tremendously so I do not mind waiting... waiting is part of life!

Worst place ever. Front desk receptionist are rude and dismissive. Personally, I will never return to this particular clinic. Luckily, I had better experiences with other planned parenthood clinics so there behavior did not tarnish planned parenthood reputation for me completely. Please do better with your staffing, especially with your receptionists. They need to learn some customer service skills. Thank you.

Worst service ever! The girl at the front desk has the worst customer service skills. I had to come in 2 times in 1 day and never got helped. She told me to make an appointment which I did. She never bothered to mention I would need to wait 1 hour even if I had the appointment. When I asked her the second time she said I never asked her and that she had never seen me. I told her she even gave me the paperwork and I have her the exact time I was there and she rolled her eyes and acted stupid. Never again! Dont waste your time.

Planned Parenthood has always been a place to heal. Theyve been there for me during the most difficult times in my life. Its too personal to say it in a review but I can say that they really care about women. No other clinic has treated me like them. Thank you PP.

Fast and easy. The wait took a while but once you fill out any paperwork it goes by very quickly. The ladies are very nice and patient with you. I was there for 2 hours max. I’m pretty sure what you’re there for the time will vary

Longest wait ever I dont know why u need appointment for if you still wait hours to be seen

My appointment went smoothly and all three of the women I encountered (from the receptionist, nursing assistant, and practitioner) were all very professional and made sure I was comfortable. I couldn’t get a gynecologist to see me quickly because of COVID but was able to make a same-day appointment at this location. Thank you ladies!

Front desk people are extremely dismissive and unhelpful. Absolutely horrible customer service. The wait time is over 2 hours, even with appointment! What’s the point of the appointment if they book 15 people on the same time slot and you still have to wait for hours. Never waited this long in other locations.

The wait is ridiculous. Even if you make an appointment and arrive on time you still have to wait in line to check in, so basically once you check in your late. The receptionist are rude and work at a very slow pace , I find it so dumb they have one job only.

Went to get the morning after pill as a teen and they said they won’t tell my parents to not worry and that it’s confidential but they told my school nurse and she called my mom.dont trust what they tell you they will share your information and privacy

The medical assistants on duty (8:15 am on 9/15) were incredibly rude to me during my visit. Upon trying to return to my seat to complete paperwork (so the next person could approach the window), as if Im a child, a medical assistant said and I quote, You dont sit down unless I tell you to. Concluding that she was just having a bad day? I remained at the window and continue filling out my forms. Anyway, I ended up not getting my depo shot because they told me my insurance was inactive. Upon calling the 1-800 number today? I discovered that this isnt the case. My depo shot is a week late and its literally due to negligence. I continue coming to PP because I WANT to - not because I have to anymore (holding a PhD and a full-time job with private insurance). I want to support PP because when I couldnt afford to see anyone else? They saw me. The only difference? Then? I had to put up with the rude staff and long wait times. Now? I have a choice and I think Im going to utilize that. This experience was so disappointing and I wont forget it. Im so sorry if you this is or continues to be your experience. You/we deserve so much better. I sincerely hope the staff here receives sensitivity training in the very near feature.

Ive been to a couple of other planned parenthood locations, and although this one does get busy, it still has to be one of my favorite locations. The doctors and workers are kind and understanding, and are eager to answer your questions. Its busy for a reason. Great service! 👍

The wait is excessively long even after making an appointment. The customer service with the receptionist is not good either. I waited over an hour with an appointment. Wouldnt recommend this specific clinic.Posting this as I wait to be assisted lol.

I really like this location. The staff are always nice & very helpful. I would recommend setting up an appointment instead of a walk in but if you have to do a walk in, make sure youre at the office right when they open or else youll be their all day. They always answer any questions i have & have helped me a lot.

My appointment was at 3:30 and they made me wait for 2 hours and 40 minutes. Might as well not have an appointment at all. Worst customer service. Worst experience of my life. I wouldn’t recommend ANYONE to come here. I’ll give them zero stars if they had that as an option.

Jasmine and Thelma was great. Good energy and answered all my questions. Great place feels safe.

They offer HIV testing with rapid results. Everyone is very professional and caring at this office, as well as the office in Mission Hills, wich I dont know if still exists.

Told me that an appointment doesnt mean youll be seen at that time, just means youre guaranteed to be seen. Well then whats even the point of setting an appointment for a certain time? Had an 11 oclock appointment and its now noon and still have 2 people in front me. They need to work on their appointment system. Ridiculous.

Genovive and Liz were great! Both were very polite, professional, and kind! My receptionist was also kind.

Customer service wasn’t personable. Didn’t explain why even after appointment was made I still have to wait an hour. Very loud when speaking to patients, no confidentiality , clearly violating HIPPA.

Wanted to write a review bc there is nothing but negativity! This is a non-profit organization so usually packed...SET AN APPOINTMENT!!!! And even after youve set an appointment be patient... If you have health insurance then you should go with your personal dr... I have always been helped for checkups for bc love their staff.

This is my go to location as it is in my hometown. Ive never had a bad experience here, everyone is always so kind and caring. The only con about this location is the wait time when its crowded . Just be patient ✌

Wait time here sucks. Have a 10:45am appointment and at 11:55 im still waiting to be seen. They have taken walk ins over a few of us who have been waiting. And all I came for was birth control pills. Smdh

I wouldn’t recommend this location. Very rude staff, and did not provide or upload my test results. I felt very rushed at my appointment medical staff lacked thoroughness.

Cant even get anyone to answer the phone to make an appointment. Called 2 days in a row to be waiting for an hour each time and no one bothers to answer the phone.

I have had very professional and efficient care at this facility. Definitely recommend it for my friends, I truly felt supported and not judged

Its always something with this company ... I was able to make an appt for the girl over the phone says today at 2:15 . there was no availability in the long Beach location so I uber to the Lawndale location 15 minutes early and they say my appt is for the 9th at 2:15 .. so now they make it seem like I cant tell the difference from the words today and the Monday the 9th at 2:15 theres no way I can get the 2 mixed up . So they say yea we do have an available appt for 2:15 but your not scheduled for it so you will have to come back on the 9th $30 uber ride burnt mission and tho there was an opening so obviously I didnt make it up the girl gets it messed up in the system and they wont even accommodate me ..planned parenthood should close down there horrible at service and it starts with the scheduling system... foul!

I went to get my implant removed I had an appointment at 9 am I didn’t get home till after 2 pm and did not even get helped in general I feel like the staff at the front were very rude to not only me but ever person that came like they were annoyed at the fact they had to be here they hade me pay a $50 co pay that I didn’t even have and I expressed this to them then they refused to give it back to me even tho I didn’t receive the service I scheduled appointment for I spoke to 3 people to ask for it back they claimed the reason for it was because of the pregnancy test that they literally made me take before hand I didn’t even need one the situation ended with them saying billing would contact me I didn’t trust this so I called myself I received no answer and no call back I did leave a message but it’s been weeks now and I truly feel like I was robbed

Everyone was nice and they answered all my questions... The wait was too long I got there at 8 and left at 11 just to get a plan b pill...

At 3 PM, as a Walk-In, I was told that there were 7 ahead of me, and the wait would be an hour and a half at the very least!! All I need is a routine shot, that literally tales 3 seconds to administer!!

I love planned parenthood all the staff here are very friendly and polite always answer any questions that I have great services :)

Worst experience with all the staff except 2 of the youngest girls in there(prob doing externship.idk) but he rest of them that are always there are rude and criticize you thinking you cant hear them.
